The Old dilapidated house

This is a story I wrote

It all started on Christmas Eve, fluffy clouds filled the sky while the trees blew in the heavy wind, a thunder storm was approaching, Fred tried to open the door, he turned back but the creaky door opened itself, He looked back just to see that it was closed, but how, where did the noise come from, he heard it again “creak” he turned back but by now he was almost down the front stairs of the old dilapidated house. He could see the glow through the old cracked windows but he told himself it would be just a faulty light, but then he saw shadows, a man, or at least an animal’s shadow appeared, they were in a cloak, it was as if it had just appeared for him he’s never seen such a thing, the shadows bumpy fingers pointed behind a corner but before he knew it the blackout happened, Daniel looked around the corner a light came out of nowhere suddenly the ghostly shadow appeared and was moving from wall to wall closer and closer Daniel tried to scream but nothing came out he tried moving but his feet were stuck to the ground the beastly shadow came closer and closer until they came face to face, suddenly out of nowhere the house lit up in Christmas lights and decorations surrounded the old amazing dilapidated house.

“Merry Christmas” yelled the shadow, “I’m sorry if I scared you there Fred, it’s just if anyone knows we’re here well who knows”, Fred was left speechless. “Who are you” asked Fred mumbling through the sentence. “Well I’m Santa Clause”. At first Fred didn’t believe him until the shadow’s stomach grew bigger his black coat turned into a big red and white suit with a black and gold belt, he grew skin, his gleaming eyes started across to the park where that also lit up.

“Ok Fred, now you know you’re forbidden to speak of what happened in the last half an hour, promise” asked Santa as he reached his hand out as if he wanted to shake hands, “I promise” replied Fred as he too reached out and shook hands.

“Now Fred you better get going otherwise I won’t have enough time to deliver all the presents to the young children”, “But can I come back” said Fred in a low voice who was still in shock, “remember little lad you never saw anything” and without that he disappeared in a flash, Fred looked up to the sky and saw a sleigh ride past him, “Ho ho ho Merry Christmas”, yelled Santa as he zoomed of into the black clouds that now were turning white and fluffy again.

Fred ran home a fast as he could, but when he got home there was no presents under the Christmas tree, the cookies weren’t eaten and the cup of milk was empty, as Fred walked up stairs he told himself it was just a dream.

The next morning he was woken up by his little sister jumping on his bed, they ran into the lounge room to see, As Fred peered into the lunge room it was filled with happiness there was at least 10 presents for both of them, that day was the happiest day of Fred’s life and will never forget how scared he was of Santa Clause at first, and they all lived happily ever after.

Shaving Cream

Today Mr.K let us do our spelling on our tables for a bit of fun, the reason we were drawing on our tables was because we were going to clean them anyway with shaving cream.

At first he demonstrated on Jordy’s table, as you would know shaving cream cleans really well, of course Mr.K bought the cheap stuff because he says we dont deserve good quality shaving cream.

When Mr.K came to my best friend Lucy and I he piled it on, playing with shaving cream was so fun, the pictures arn’t working if they start working I will show you.

What I do at Christmas

On Christmas Eve my family and I drive up to Melbourne to spend the night at my cousin’s house, because my mum is Italian we are provided with a lot of food.

Theirs about 15 people that come including the kids, at first we all play around, the grown-ups have some drinks until it’s time to have dinner, for dinner my Nana usually makes her beautiful lasagne and pizza.

After dinner it’s finally time to open presents, all the parents do KK/ Kris Kringle so they don’t have to buy extra presents for each other just the kids. We usually eat dessert after presents then maybe watch a movie or a T.V program then it’s time for a long drive home.

When it’s Christmas day I usually wake around about 6.30, I wake up mum and dad then go get my brother and we open our Christmas presents together.

We usually go back to bed after opening presents but I stay up and play with them/my presents , we have breakfast at home, usually have croissants because it’s a special occasion. We have a roast for lunch and a nice candle lit dinner.

In between these meals we play in our pool or go to the beach, after dinner we go see the Christmas lights that people have put up around their front yard.

The next morning it’s boxing day, on boxing day there’s a lot of sales around the shops for Christmas decorations and other things, my mum and I usually go shopping on boxing day unless it’s hot then we go in the pool.

Christmas is one of the best celebrations of the year and I enjoy it a lot!!!

Remembrance Day

Today we learned about remembrance day and so far we’ve learnt about the poppys and rosemary.

Did you know that poppys are worn to rememberthe people that fort in the war, and also Rosemary was a plant that made memories stronger, so Rosemary is worn on remembrance day to remember the memories of the soldiers.

Lieutenant – Colonel John McCrae of the royal Canadian Army Medical Corps who in may 1915 when after watching the death of a close friend in Belgium wrote the folowing poem:

In Flanders field the poppies blow, Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky the larks, still bravely singing, fy scarce heard amis the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago we lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow. loved and were loved, and now we lie in Fanders field.

Take up our quarrel with the foe: to you from failing hands we throw the torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die we shall not sleep, though poppies grow.

The Cloud that was Loud

who was very loud
When the cloud looked below
he saw a crowd say hello ,
So he waved and gave them snow.
When it started snowing
he forgot that it was blowing
so it blew into a crow
so the cloud
that was loud
decided that when someone says hello
you should just forget it and
go

go

Donuts

This term the grade five’s ar doing fractions for maths.

Yesturday we had to pretend we had a peice of cake (which was acctually just a peice of paper infront of us) we had to count all the people in our family/ the people that live in your house, and with a ruler we had to rule even peices of cake for the people in our family.

Mr . Kennedy said that if we worked well that day the day after we could use real chocolate cake and put it into fractions and after woulds we could eat the peices.

The next day Mr. Kennedy didn’t get a chance to get cakes so he brought donuts!!! When it finally came to maths our grade was so excited.

This is how we played: First Mr. Kennedy picked about 8 to 10 people to stand outside the classroom, Mr. Kennedy puts 3 donuts on 1 table 2 donust on another and 1 donut the 10people come in one by one and choose a place to sit, then at the end the after everybody has sat down the people with the most peices of donut each win.

I was lucky because I got to go twice, on my first go I got half a pink donut, on my second go I got a quarter of two donuts so I got another half, they were yummy.

This is another reason why my teacher teach’s us the best maths!!! shiny-sprinkle-donut1[1]

Haloween

This week its Halloween, my friend Keely and I have decided to do a little post on it.

This week is health week and on the Friday of every health week we have a art show, we usually have a fashions on the fields competition but we’ve decided that were dressing up as monster or something like that for Halloween.

I love Halloween practically because of the lollies, on Saturday my friend and I will be going tricker treating so who knows I might just run into your house.
